2013 Jazz Fest list of performers

The New Orleans Jazz and Heritage Festival, a.k.a Jazz Fest, announced the list of artists. Headliners Fleetwood Mac, Billy Joel and Dave Matthews Band, The Black Keys, John Mayer, Willie Nelson, Little Big Town and Patti Smith join hundreds of other musicians at the New Orleans’ Fairgrounds Racecourse April 26-28 and May 2-5.

Kermit's In the Mail! Jazz Fest postal cachet

For the 24th year, the United States Postal Service is creating a Jazz Fest postal "cachet," a a highly collectible, commemorative mailing envelope featuring a New Orleans musical icon and a silver embossed Jazz Fest logo. Past honorees have been Mahalia Jackson, the Marsalises, the Nevilles and many others. This year's cachet features Kermit Ruffins. The 2012 Jazz Fest postal cachet will be unveiled in a ceremony this Thursday, April 26, at Cafe Istanbul (2732 St. Claude Ave.), at 11 a.m. The event is free and open to the public.

Jazz Fest 2012 Music Lineup Announced. The Eagles, Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers, Foo Fighters, Zac Brown Band, John Mayer, Herbie Hancock, My Morning Jacket, Ne-Yo, Al Green, Bon Iver, Paulina Rubio, Jill Scott, Bonnie Raitt, Bunny Wailer, Florence & The Machine and dozens more to join hundreds of Louisiana greats at the 2012 Jazz Fest from April 27 through May 6 at the Fair Grounds Race Course in New Orleans.

Trombone Shorty and Big Sam's Funky Nation to Headline the 14th Annual Jazz & Heritage Gala Thursday, April 26, 2012 – 7 p.m. at the Hilton Riverside Hotel.

The French Quarter Festival announces its preliminary line-up of music, food vendors and more…

The award-winning French Quarter Festival is Louisiana's largest free music event, a three-day local music showcase scattered throughout the French Quarter in New Orleans, Louisiana. There are music performances on 17 stages. The community festival also features the "World's Largest Jazz Brunch," which are the festival food booths operated by nearly 60 local chefs and restaurants throughout the festival weekend.

The ‘World’s Largest Jazz Brunch’ Offers Some of the Finest Food in the World 27th Anniversary Celebration.

The 2010 event will shatter that record by offering over 105 food and beverage booths from some of the city’s culinary elite. Over 105 food and beverage booths (list of concessionaires attached) located in Jackson Square, Woldenberg Riverfront Park and the Louisiana State Museum’s Old U.S. Mint that make up the “World’s Largest Jazz Brunch,” feature authentic local cuisines from the area’s finest restaurants including such festival favorites as Jambalaya, Crawfish Bread, Gumbo, Red Beans and Rice, Muffaletta, Crawfish Bisque, Hot Sausage Po-boys, Cajun Meat Pies, and more. Foodies will also enjoy Crawfish and Goat Cheese Crepes, Fish Tacos, White Chocolate Banana Bread Pudding, and Praline Crème Brulee. In addition to all of the wonderful food items, the festival offers an array of deliciously cool beverages including Abita Beer, frozen Southern Comfort cocktails, Fetzer wines, Coca-Cola products, Hurricanes, Margaritas, a wide assortment daiquiris, and Community Coffee. Most menu items range in price from $3 – $7 to keep the festival not only fun, but affordable.
